# Axes

Set the axes of your plot

### Y-Axis Modes

* By default all signals will automatically be grouped under one y-axis which zooms dynamically based on the data in view, which we call **'Simple mode'**
* To enable more y-axis settings, open the settings menu and toggle **'Advanced mode'**
* Clicking either the 'stack' or 'unstack' buttons will also leave simple mode

### Plot Axes settings

Axes settings can be found in the plots' settings.

* Choose between 'simple' and 'advanced' mode
* Autoscale axes: the y-axis for each signal will auto-scale to the data currently in view
* Show all X axes (only when comparing datasets): show the x-axis of every dataset instead of just the first.
* Show all Y axes: show the Y-axis for every linked signal group

### X-Axis Modes

There are up to 3 x-axis display modes, depending on your license and the data you are visualising

* **Absolute Time:** If the data contains real timestamps, by default they will be displayed in the local timezone of your browser. You can select a different timezone by clicking the globe icon in the top right corner
* **Relative Time:** If you would rather see your data as seconds since the start of the test, the stopwatch button will switch to 'relative time'. This will shift the data to start at 0s.
* **Distance Mode:** Switch the x-axis to display meters rather than time. For this the 'motorsport package' must be enabled in your license, and the distance signal needs to be configured. Learn more here: [Motorsport Package](/docs/marple-insight/user-manuals/motorsport-package.md)
